As a lot of you know writing a book is tough work, but then add to that the stress of publishing it (me, I self published). You might think you are home free at that point, but you’re not. . . 😦 Next you have to do whatever you can to build a fanbase for your books, especially as a first time author that no one’s heard about. ME!! And promoting? Time consuming and a ton of trial and error,
As I have been navigating my way around the indie author world these past few months, I’ve learned a few things:
1. Breathe– everything will fall into place when it’s supposed to
2. Don’t forget the reason you write– keep writing no matter what your sales look like; no matter how many readers you think you have (bc I know, I don’t really have the slightest idea how many people have read “Wake Up! Based on a true story of abuse and betrayal)
3. Last, but not least– HAVE FUN!! If you like doing take overs, do them (they are a great way to have an awesome time participating in contests as well as getting to know some really great people)- Do a give away as a way to keep readers interested- Have a Q & A session where readers and authors alike can ask you anything they want!
